Yesterday, we talked about what your life would look like without fear. I HOPE you actually meditated on it or at least absent-mindedly thought about it while driving in your car.
Are you even LOOKING at your Vision Board? Mine is in my dining room. Oh, I’m out of control — but I’m a life coach, so I get a free pass. I have a vision board I constantly look at, love on, and update. I have NEXT YEAR’s Vision board already getting filled in. I have it defined down to what happens each quarter, numbers, dates, and future metrics… I am a NERD.
So vision board or not, what’s ONE THING you can pick to do that fear has been holding you back from?
Skydiving? Starting a business? Quitting a job? Asking your crush out on a date? — WAIT — who does that? Does anyone have a crush anymore? Does anyone ask anyone out on a date anymore? Do we just swipe right and hope for the best?
Anyway, what is the thing you’ve let fear hold you back from? Yesterday, I asked you to identify HOW fear shows up in your life. Today, we take it a step further. Identify the thing you really, truly want and recognize that you are afraid to HAVE IT or DO it or BE IT!
(Dang, I have a lot of ALL CAPS today in this one…)
Now, here’s where I am going to cheerlead you extra hard. You DESERVE to do/be/have this! What are you waiting for? What has you so afraid of seeing this dream come to life?
Remember, it can be complicated and big. Say you’re dreaming of selling all your stuff and moving across the country for something. (This is my frequent dream and I’ve done it already a couple times because this is how I roll with fear; I tell it to F off). Or, maybe your fraidy-cat thing right now is eating a meal at a restaurant by yourself. Pick the small thing or the big thing. Whatever. Start small if you have to.
Think of an actual action you can take today that will help you conquer the fear. Afraid to start that insane cross-country move? Start by throwing out some old crap from your closet. Small steps. I don’t care what The Thing is. I just want you to start taking some confident action into the direction of your dreams. Start thinking about what would make it possible rather than putting on a shelf.
