Hopefully, this week I have woken you up from your slumber. Listen to Fearless 5 Podcast #10 here on Anchor.
I challenged you to give up TV and see who you are without it. I challenged you to see how much of your time, money, and energy you spend on it. But “TV” can be anything, really.
What are you doing that society expects you to do — when you’d rather be doing something else?
OOOhhh I wish I could see your face right now!
Is it making sense now? Was it ever really about the damn TV?
We are truly heading into a new and scary time for a lot of people. Some people have it made, as always. Some of us really want more out of life. Some of us are seeing industries we’ve worked our entire adults lives in — just disappear. The world is changing and — at some point — you may look up from your screen and wonder where everything went. That job you had? That career field you used to feel so secure in? That relationship you thought would last forever…
The world is full of false promises about things that were supposed to fulfill us — that are no longer doing that.
As you head into your weekend, I want you to sit with this. Meditate. Hold space.
Where are you unfulfilled? And what can you sacrifice in order to seek true fulfillment?
What feels empty? What feels wasteful?
What are you doing that is expected of you? Why? Why do you do it?
What feels like a soul and time-sucking vampire in your life that you can get rid of?
Become mindful of how you’re spending your time and energy.
In my life, I’ve given up — or sacrificed for many better things.
I’ve given up long commutes for working at home so I could get more done. (Definitely during times of working for myself and trying to complete a college degree at the same time).
Whatever change needs to be made should scare you. And you should greet it fearlessly.
