Hello to Nikki and Azu, who let me know they are listening to the Fearless 5 Podcast!
So with the new moon, we set our intentions for the next moon cycle.
I’ve not been a huge moon person until recently — I’m a Leo. It’s a sun sign. I just downloaded an app called “The Moon Calendar” and it tells what moon phase we’re in and offers self-care ritual suggestions. Now isn’t that nice & helpful? (The app also costs $2.99/year, and I’m not getting paid to tell you about it).
It tells me today (Sunday as I write this, 10-27-19) that the moon is about to enter Scorpio. I shared a million memes about this in my Instagram stories today… (@heatherlarson) and I’m not an astrologer, and this is only FIVE Fearless minutes… so let me jump ahead.
How to do a New Moon ritual with intention setting:
Get into your quiet space & take some deep breaths. What do you need? Colored pens and pencils? Just a journal and pen? Gather it now.
Now, settle in physically into your quiet space and take more breaths. Wrap yourself in a blanket if you’re cold, have a warm cup of herbal tea, place a crystal near you, and diffuse some essential oils — whatever feels right.
Write down a list. What are you calling in during this next moon cycle? This isn’t a laundry list of “I want.” This is more like a SMART goal list with a 28-day deadline. What sounds like it can be called in during this next month? What do you WANT to call in? What should be prioritized?
I do these monthly now and they help me constantly evolve and re-prioritize. It’s always interesting to me what DOES and DOES NOT get called into my life. I keep using the phrase “calling in,” but what we are doing here is setting intentions.
So don’t call in a thing like a Michael Kors purse. This isn’t what we are going after and it’s not what the moon is for or why we try to live in harmony with its cycles. What are you intending for the month of November 2019? What is possible and what is a stretch goal?
I didn’t get what I wanted in the month of October. At. All. I so didn’t have my intentions come to be. What I did get was a complete and painful upheaval. So I sit here broken, like, “Well, new month. New intentions.” Let me go inward once again and figure it out once more — what are my intentions this new month?
There’s something powerful about a new beginning.
Even after everything I tried burnt all the way to the ground. I’ll take some time to journal out the lesson, then begin a new list. New month, new intentions. I have a feeling we’re all going to rock this month.
