Today, we are going to concentrate on letting go of a habit we don’t want anymore.
Biting your nails, being lazy, not making your bed, whatever it is. It’s the day to let it go.
Listen to podcast #28 here and GET FEARLESS! Thank you so much for checking out the Fearless 5 Podcast! I hope you like the meditations I’ve created for you this week. You can use these scripts I am posting to create your own meditations by recording on your phone if you like.
Now, onto the script:
First close your eyes and take a deep breath.
In your mind’s eye, see yourself experiencing this habit, or doing the thing you want to give up.
How do you feel? As you concentrate on this old habit you want to give up, how do you feel? Sit in that feeling for a moment. Take a deep breathe and hold. Now acknowledge the feeling it gives you to do this habit. Now slowly exhale. Let out a sigh if you have it.
Now, let’s think of your WHY. Why do you want to let go of this habit? Breathe in. Now hold. Hold for a second onto your WHY. And exhale. Again, let out a sigh if you have it.
Now think of a few reasons why you want to let go of this habit. Keep breathing in slow and deep.
Now, remember how engaging in this habit makes you feel.
Next, let’s shift into WHY you want to let it go again.
Ok, keep breathing. Now you’re clear. You’ve chosen which habit you want to release, you’ve become conscious of how it makes you feel, and you’ve become conscious of WHY you want to release it.
Now continue to breathe and listen.
You have let this habit go. You can do it and you DID do it.
You are strong.
You have the ability to let this go.
You’ve accepted that this doesn’t suit you anymore.
You are perfect, whole, and complete on the road to letting go of this habit.
Remember, as you try to let it go, there will be resistance. There will be setbacks. When this happens, just acknowledge it. Be present for it in your process of letting go. But don’t hang onto thoughts or feelings about any setbacks you have. Just let them go up like puffs of smoke. Visualize those thoughts going up in wisps of smoke.
Visualize your habit as a thing. It could be a board and you karate chop it. It can be a glass you break. It can be a piece of clay you mold into something else. It can be a back of trash you take out. Visualize the object it is. Now visualize yourself smashing or trashing it.
Now it’s gone.
How do you feel now? Lighter? More accomplished? Proud? Happy? Content? Free? Pick a positive feeling you feel now that the habit is gone.
I have given up my habit of….
And now I feel so…… about that!
Breathe in how proud of yourself you are and how much you deserve this change. Hold. Remember you are worthy.
Now exhale and open your eyes.
